The recruitment process is being carried out to fill vacancies that have been designated for a new selection round, as well as any additional vacancies that may be reported by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Eligibility Criteria for WBSSC SLST 2025
Any citizen of India may apply for the post of Teachers, i.e., Assistant Teachers (Classes IX & X) and Assistant Teachers (Classes XI & XII) in Government Aided/Sponsored Secondary/ Higher Secondary Schools.
Eligible candidates with the Minimum qualification laid down in the Rules, 2025 may apply online only (and by no other mode) through the official website of The West Bengal School Service Commission (i.e., www.westbengalssc.com).
Age
To eligible for the WBSSC SLST 2025 Exam, the age limit for candidates is between 21 to 40 years as of 1st January 2025, with age relaxations of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 8 years for PwD candidates.
For Assistant Teacher (IX to X)
Candidates must hold a Graduate / Post Graduate degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and a Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution,
Or, a 4–year degree of B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.
For Physical Education, a Bachelor’s degree with B.P.Ed or D.P.Ed is mandatory, while for Work Education, qualifications in fields like Home Science, Agriculture, or Craft are required.
For Assistant Teacher (XI to XII)
Candidates must hold a Post Graduate degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution,
